There’s only one way to judge your marketing.
Can you guess what it is?
If you said response you’re right.
Bonus points if you said people rushing to give you money.
After all a business isn’t a charity.
You market to get customers.
You market to build your business.
Sure, once you’re huge, you can run cute branding campaigns.
But if you look at the marketing businesses did to become big it was marketing designed to get a response.
The only person qualified to tell you how good your marketing is someone who is in the market for what you’ve got.
They vote with their wallets.
It’s the ultimate truth serum.
Now digital marketers get all hot and bothered about engagement.
They think likes and comments are valuable.
It’s not bad to get them.
But likes and comments aren’t paying customers.
So, not all responses are equal.
The only people you want responding are people willing and able to buy from you.
Another harsh truth.
Your opinion on the marketing doesn’t matter.
Neither does the opinion of your colleagues.
Or your loved ones.
Why?
Because they are not your customer.
Remember this.
Only the votes of customer wallets count.
Anything is else is vanity.
And vanity, in marketing, is insanity.
