Note I chose crisis deliberately.
But this isn’t a new problem.
But it is the cause of most marketing failure.
Do you know what it is?
It’s saying too much.
It’s tempting to want to communicate all the wonderful things you offer.
But what happens when you do is this.
Nothing sticks.
You have to remember no one is sitting and paying complete attention to your marketing message.
They are busy.
They have a million things on.
They’re distracted.
They’re stressed.
You get the idea.
You are interrupting their day.
So, if you are going to do that, it has to be worthwhile.
The easiest way to do this is a with a single clear message that is interesting to them.
A message about them and how you can help them have a better life.
Almost no one does and this is good news.
Because when you do, you stand out.
For bonus points use language that is sticky.
Things like alliteration, rhyme, etc.
But that’s a topic for another day.
Now go and look at your marketing message.
Is it trying to say too much?
If you’re not sure then send me a copy and I’ll tell you.
Simplicity sells.
