No one knows for sure how much marketing we are exposed to each day.

But the best estimate is between 4,000 and 10,000.

Now that’s a wall of noise.

For most people it feels like their brain will explode.

So, we have trained ourselves to tune it out as much as possible.

This means if you play it safe you’ll be ignored.

And nearly everyone does.

In fact, add AI into the mix and it’s no wonder over 90% of marketing fails.

It’s probably more like 99%.

What you have to understand is if you play safe, you lose.

You have the be the most interesting marketer in your category.

Remember you are competing against anything your prospect can give their attention to.

Here’s one way you can avoid playing it safe.

Get rid of your legal department.

OK that was a joke. But we all know legal departments kill a lot of great marketing ideas.

What you need to do is ask yourself great questions that prompt great ideas.

Here’s a few examples.

What is a ridiculous benefit of your product?

How can you make fun of the conventions in your industry?

If your product had no filter, what would it say?

Have fun with the process.

Go too far with your ideas.

Remember you are just coming up with ideas at the moment.

When you find one that scares you a bit, you’re onto something.

Now here’s the hard part.

Have the courage to fight for your idea and get it into the world.

Too many great ideas because they don’t have someone strong enough to fight for them until they win.
