We are emotional beings having a rational delusion.

Whether we acknowledge it or not we are ruled by emotions.
But we explain why we do things rationally.
It’s just the way we’re wired.
What is concerning is that many people in business still don’t get it.
They think making a good argument will work.
They think features sell.
They think benefits will flood their bank account with money.
None of that is true.
If it was then everyone would be raking in the sweet cash.
But few are.
The few that are understand the power of emotion.
The great brands get it.
Apple, Nike. Liquid Death, the best politicians.
They hook you with emotion and give you rational reasons to justify your decision.
The worst case of rational delusion is LinkedIn.
Look at the posts, bland.
Look at the ads, boring.
Look at company about descriptions, make it stop.
You can’t bore people into buying.
Though most marketers do this every day and wonder why no one responds to their marketing.
End your rational delusion.
Accept we’re human and emotion first.
The second you get that and put it into practice is the second your marketing transforms.
Or you can keep doing what you’re doing and hope things change, they won’t.
