Even though digital marketers tell you people have changed they haven’t.
Sure our media use has changed. But fundamental human psychology hasn’t. That’s good news.
It means you don’t have to keep chasing the latest shiny social site. Does anyone still remember Clubhouse already?
The three big appeals are:
1. Curiosity
2. News
3. Self-interest
No surprise number 3 is the most powerful.
I want you to check all your marketing and ask yourself one question. Does this focus on the self-interest of my clients?
If you’re not able to be objective ask someone who is.
This is especially true for websites. I’ve reviewed the copy on thousands of them and very few pass this critical test.
Remember your client’s self-interest is the key to fulfilling your self-interest.
